Dr. Tanja Schneider, member of TP2, was honoured by the Robert Koch Foundation with the Postdoctoral Awards for Young Scientists in the field of microbiology. This award is to recognize promising scientific achievements, as a commitment of the foundation to support and encourage young scientists in their careers. The German Societies of Hygiene and Microbiology, of Immunology and of Virology have nominated candidates for the three fields virology, microbiology and immunology, which then were confirmed by the Scientific Advisory Council. Mrs. Annette Widmann-Mauz, state secretary of the Federal Minister of Health, presented the awards at the Brandenburg Academy of Sciences in Berlin.
