Cultural Activities and Site Visits
In addition to academic education, first-hand experience of German and European culture constitutes a vital part of the program. The cultural program is designed to make the participants' stay as informative and rich in experience as possible.
The activities comprise various trips and excursions (incl. to Berlin, Trier Burg Eltz) and social events. The cultural program is designed to provide social and recreational activities and to complement the academic program at the same time.
As part of the Junior Year Program, the International Office organizes a variety of cultural and social activities throughout the semester. Participants of the program "Life Sciences & Culture Bonn" are welcome to participate in these activities. They include movie nights, games, cooking events, concerts (for example the "Rheinkultur" music festival), a visit to the Beethovenhaus (Beethoven's birthplace), visits to museums in Cologne and Bonn and to other places of interest, Intercultural Communication sessions, a river cruise on the Rhine, etc.
In addition, the International Club of the University, which is open Monday through Thursday, offers a range of activities throughout the semester and provides a meeting place for German and foreign students.
